An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat Swedish Saab JAS-39C Gripen multirole fighter in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Revell. The package contains parts of good plastic, a clear part for the canopy, a decal sheet and illustrated building instructions. The model can be finished in Swedish and Czech markings and fitted with underwing armament for various combat configurations.
The JAS-39C Gripen is a modern single-engined fighter with the characteristic concept of a delta wing complemented by a canard foreplane, powered by a Volvo RM12 engine. The abbreviation JAS denotes multirole use for fighter, attack and reconnaissance duties. The C version is an improved variant compatible with NATO standards and capable of air-to-air refueling; besides the Swedish Air Force it is also operated by the Czech Air Force.
Join the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, which wicks into the seams and leaves clean joints. Apply a primer before painting, which evens the surface out and brings out the finely engraved panel lines. Airbrushing is ideal; paint the underwing armament and the drop tanks to match the scheme you have chosen. Apply the decals onto a gloss clear coat and seal the whole with a matte clear varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
