Eduard masking set 1:48 Mikoyan MiG-15 TFace is a pre-cut set of masks for the glazing and the wheels of a MiG-15 fighter kit in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means masks for the outside and the inside of the cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, not a kit. The masks are machine-cut from thin Japanese kabuki paper, which is used precisely because it holds its shape, follows curved glazing well and leaves no adhesive on the paint once removed. At Eduard the TFace designation means that the set deals with the glazing from both sides — the outer surfaces and the inner cockpit framing.
The MiG-15 is a single-seat jet fighter of the late 1940s with a swept wing and a centrifugal-flow turbojet. It was one of the most widespread types of its generation and flew in the colors of a large number of states. The cockpit has markedly framed canopies, so on a model it pays to mask precisely.
Kabuki paper can be stretched slightly, so even a straight strip will sit into a gentle curve. Lift the pieces from the sheet with the tip of a new scalpel or with fine-jawed tweezers, not with your fingers — grease from the skin reduces adhesion. Apply the inner masks before you glue the canopy to the fuselage, otherwise you will not reach the framing. Let the model stand before spraying so that the adhesive of the mask settles.
A masking set is an accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. Check before buying that the masks match your kit.
