A set of turned brass barrels and periscopes for the U-boat Type VII (1:350, Aber) for models of German submarines. A metal detail accessory replacing the plastic parts of the deck gun and the periscopes.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Polish manufacturer Aber contains turned brass parts in 1:350 scale for models of German Type VII submarines, specifically the barrel of the deck gun and the periscopes. It is not a model of a submarine but a precise metal accessory that replaces the corresponding plastic parts and gives them a crisp, faithful look.
Type VII submarines were the most numerous type of German submarine of the Second World War and the backbone of the submarine war in the Atlantic. On deck they carried an 88 mm gun, and periscopes on the conning tower. It is precisely the thin elements, such as the gun barrel and the periscope masts, that gain most from a metal version in a small scale.
You cut the plastic parts off carefully and replace them with the brass ones. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and degrease the joint beforehand. A coat of primer and a dark gray shade matching German submarine camouflage are recommended.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
