The injection-molded plastic kit from the manufacturer Revell represents the American four-engine heavy bomber Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress in the F version in 1:72 scale. It is a sizeable model of classic construction; depending on the build, the control surfaces can be positioned, the landing gear retracted or extended and an open bomb bay suggested.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was one of the main American daylight strategic bombers of the Second World War. The F version was one of the main production variants deployed over Europe and was marked by a glazed nose and strong defensive armament in several gun positions. The machines operated in tight combat formations in daylight.
On a large model, take care to glue the fuselage firmly and to seat the flying surfaces and the engine nacelles precisely. Use thin cement for plastic and mask the glazing before spraying. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is suitable for the large areas and for a natural metal finish or camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
