ICM 1:35 May 1945: Soviet soldiers at rest (figure set) contains four figures of Red Army soldiers after the end of the fighting. An injection-molded kit for rounding out dioramas of the closing stage of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic figure set in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The box contains four figures of Red Army soldiers caught in a relaxed pose once the fighting is over; the group comprises an officer, two soldiers and one woman soldier. It is a diorama accessory: the figures are assembled and painted separately and are not tied to any particular vehicle.
In subject the set belongs to the closing stage of the Second World War in Europe, to the spring of 1945. The figures are modeled in restful, non-combat poses: the standing and seated men look at ease, as if taking a short break. The uniforms and equipment match the period appearance of Red Army soldiers. The composition is deliberately informal and suits a quiet scene in a street, beside a building or next to a vehicle.
Start by cleaning the flash off the parts and sand the mold seams on the bodies and faces down carefully. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement. For skin and uniforms an airbrush or a brush works well, backed up with oils and washes to deepen the folds and bring out the faces. The varied poses let you arrange the figures into a natural group.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
