Qitian Dasheng Wukong Impulse Gundam DS is a plastic snap-fit kit from Bandai, a Gundam design treated in the motif of the Monkey King Sun Wukong.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese company Bandai, from the Gundam world. It is assembled by snapping the parts together, so glue is not needed, and the sprues tend to be molded in several colors of plastic. The model belongs to a line that joins robotic Gundam designs with the characters of classic East Asian stories, hence the double name on the box.
Qitian Dasheng, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, is the honorary title of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King of the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Bandai carried that motif over to the robotic Impulse Gundam design familiar to modelers from the Gundam range and joined the two names into one title. The subject here is therefore not real equipment but a fictional character: what counts is the silhouette, the coloring and the articulation, not historical exactness.
Nip the parts off a little from the part and true the remainder of the gate up with a knife or a sanding sponge, and with strongly colored plastic you will avoid white marks on the edges. The model can be built straight out of the box. Anyone wanting to go further will appreciate a light primer, refining the small fields of color with a brush and a matte or satin varnish to even the sheen out. With stylized models restrained weathering pays off: a heavy wash and dust do a stylized character more harm than good, while a fine picking out of the engraved lines suits it. Apply the stickers only once the varnish has dried and press them with a soft cloth, not with a fingernail.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
