Line infantry of the tsar's army in the set 28mm Russian Napoleonic Wars Infantry 1809-1814 (40 Figures): forty plastic soldiers for a whole battalion, flags and bases included.
Responsibility details are not available.
This package from Perry Miniatures covers a whole battalion of a Russian foot regiment. Besides forty multi-part figures it contains bases for the unit, flags and a painting guide. The soldiers have a choice of the 1809 or the 1812 pattern shako, or a field cap, so a single box bought once can cover campaigns from the fighting on the Danube right up to the entry into Paris.
In the years 1809 to 1814 the Russian infantry earned a reputation as an exceptionally tenacious army that held its formation even after losses that broke others. The regulation of 1811 allotted every battalion a grenadier platoon, and castings for it are included in the box. The same figures can also be painted as light infantry or as marines, which makes one set the basis for three different kinds of unit.
First decide on the pattern of shako, because the two versions differ in the shape of the crown and mixing them up within one unit is glaring. The green coat of the Russian infantry is very dark, so rather than deepening the shadows, lighten the edges. Glue the flags on at the very end, as damaged paper is hard to repair.
The plastic parts are waiting to be put together; obtain paints and glue yourself.
