This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.IA in 1:72 scale from Hobby 2000. The box combines quality injection-molded plastic with decals focused on No. 303 (Polish) Fighter Squadron RAF during the Battle of Britain in 1940. The markings offer the machines of well-known pilots of that legendary unit, which was among the most successful squadrons of the battle.
Together with the Spitfire, the Hawker Hurricane was the mainstay of the British fighter defense during the Battle of Britain. Rugged, easy to repair and steady as a gun platform, it in fact shot down more enemy aircraft than the Spitfire. The Mk.I version with eight wing machine guns formed the backbone of Fighter Command. The Polish No. 303 Squadron, made up of exiles, made its name with an exceptional number of kills.
Use liquid cement on the plastic joints. Fit out the cockpit and mask the glazing before spraying. A base coat (primer) and an airbrush are recommended; the British camouflage scheme of Dark Earth and Dark Green with the leading edge identification markings comes out well with sharp transitions. Apply the No. 303 Squadron decals onto a gloss coat so that no silvering occurs.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
