A resin kit of a classic rural hay wagon in 1:35 scale. The Czech manufacturer Plusmodel is among the masters of rural and civilian subjects, and a ladder-sided wagon is one of the most universal elements that can be set up in a diorama.
The wooden hay wagon drawn by horses served in the European countryside for centuries practically without change. It stood on every farm from Bohemia to Ukraine, and that is exactly why it is so rewarding in a diorama: it suits an idyllic civilian scene from the First Republic just as well as the background of a column on the Eastern Front, where military equipment passes a world that has not changed in spite of the war. The contrast of a wooden cart and steel gives the scene emotion.
Wash the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. With a wooden cart the painting of the wood is the key: a base in a warm brown, irregular lightening of the individual planks, a dark wash into the joints and drybrushing to bring the texture out. The hay can be made up from modeling static grass or teased-out sisal string. A team of horses or figures of farmers will liven the scene up perfectly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, the parts are of resin. Glue, paints, the team of horses and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
