In the Gunze Hobby Color range the paint carries the designation H087 and it is a red shade in a finish with a metallic effect. The metallic look is created by fine particles dispersed in the coat: the light reflects off them, so the surface changes its tone with the angle of view and reads more like metal under a colored lacquer than like a matte area. That is exactly why it is worked with differently from an ordinary opaque paint.
A red metallic shade suits the painted surfaces of motorcycles, cars and racing machines, accessories and tanks, science fiction subjects and small things for a diorama where something is meant to look like polished colored metal. It also serves well for decoration, that is, where you want to emphasize one surface against muted surroundings.
Mix the pot thoroughly before work, the metallic component settles at the bottom when standing and without stirring you will get only a clouded red. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions and use the thinner intended for this range. Apply thin coats onto a smooth and degreased base, because a metallic effect brings out every unevenness and every scratch. Let the coats dry and do not hurry with overcoating.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, brushes and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
