A metal engine set 1:144 for a model of the An-225 Mriya from the Metallic Details brand. It adds detail to the engine nacelles, which are immediately visible on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set in 1:144 scale aimed at the engine parts of a model of the An-225 Mriya cargo aircraft. This is not a kit but an accessory for adding detail to a plastic model. The engine nacelles are visually dominant on this aircraft, and plastic molding in a small scale usually manages neither the thin edges of the intakes nor fine mesh.
The An-225 Mriya was a six-engine cargo aircraft derived from the design of the An-124, powered by D-18T turbofan engines hung in nacelles under the wing. A single example was completed, intended for the carriage of oversize loads. Six engines, three under each wing half, are among its most conspicuous recognition features.
Thin metal edges of air intakes call for careful forming; true a circular part up on a round handle or a drill bit of matching diameter, so that it seats without rippling. Spray the inside of the nacelle in a light shade before the edge is glued in, as a brush will not reach into the depth afterwards. Degrease the metal surfaces before painting and lay a primer on. On the exhaust parts, graded metal shades applied with an airbrush in thin coats look more faithful than one flat metallic finish. Stir metallic paints thoroughly before use; the pigment sinks to the bottom.
This is an accessory for adding detail to a plastic kit, not a model of its own. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
