The M-ATV is an American armored vehicle from the group of machines resistant to mines and improvised devices. It came out of the requirement to join the protection of the heavy vehicles of this category with mobility in mountainous and unimproved terrain, where the long and cumbersome hulls did not prove themselves. Characteristic are the V-shaped hull, which deflects the blast wave of an explosion away from the crew, and the independent suspension of all the wheels with a large travel. The designation M153 belongs to a remote controlled weapon station: the gunner operates it from inside the vehicle through a camera system and does not have to be exposed to fire.
