An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer MiniArt. It is a 2 in 1 set: from the box you can build either the 57 mm ZiS-2 anti-tank gun or the 76.2 mm ZiS-3 divisional gun. An artillery limber for towing and a set of crew figures are included as well, along with infantry weapons, ammunition boxes, photo-etched parts and decals. It is not a vehicle but an artillery set well suited to a diorama. The exact contents are stated by the manufacturer.
The ZiS-3 was the most widespread Soviet divisional gun of the Second World War - general-purpose, simple to build and reliable; it served against infantry, fortifications and tanks alike. The related ZiS-2 was a specialized 57 mm anti-tank gun with high penetrating power, which could deal with heavily armored targets. Both weapons shared the same carriage, which is what allowed MiniArt to offer them in one box.
Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement. Clean and glue the fine parts of the carriage and the shield carefully; the barrel and the mechanism can be left movable, so watch the order of assembly. Paint the figures separately - build the faces and the hands up by layering flesh tones, and tone the uniforms with washes and a dry brush. Unify the whole on a diorama with dust pigments and mud effects on the gun carriage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
