A small palm in 1:72 scale combines a resin trunk with photo-etched foliage and makes it possible to build a tropical scene even in a small format.
Responsibility details are not available.
The smaller sibling of the larger trees from the same brand. The trunk is cast in polyurethane resin, the crown is made from photo-etched metal, and the finished tree matches the height of small-format equipment and aircraft.
At this size a whole scene fits onto a base, not just a detail of one: a stretch of road, several vehicles, an aircraft with its ground crew. Vegetation in it therefore does not work as an individual item but as a backdrop, and the game is played mainly on numbers and spacing. Several trees of different heights are more convincing than one perfect one, and when the crowns are turned in different directions as well, the repeating rhythm the eye picks up at once disappears. A palm will also reliably establish the setting where building individual details in depth would not be worth it.
Anchoring is made easier by a dimple drilled with a pin vise, into which the trunk is sunk; the joint then does not have to carry the whole weight of the tree. Degrease the metal briefly before painting, otherwise the primer will not adhere. A photo-etched crown will take only a thin coat of paint, otherwise the fine drawing is lost. Choose the shades on the dry and dusty side, because a saturated green looks unnatural at small sizes and immediately flattens the scene.
The parts come raw, without varnish; the package holds no paints and no glue.
