A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks, Peewit 1:144 Dassault Mirage III, for the cockpit glazing. An accessory for building the model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Peewit for a model of the French Dassault Mirage III supersonic fighter in 1:144 scale. The set covers the cockpit glass during spraying, so that the framing of the canopy comes out sharp even on a small part. It is not a kit but a modeling accessory.
The masks are cut from thin low-tack kabuki-type tape. The material adapts to the curve of the canopy, holds even on miniature areas and as a rule leaves no glue once taken off. The pieces are lifted off the backing with tweezers or with the tip of a scalpel.
The Mirage III is a tailless delta on which the slender fuselage and the long pointed nose stand out. The cockpit is small against them and in 1:144 scale measures only a few millimeters, so its framing is the most demanding detail of the whole model. A mask gives the frame a straight edge and makes it possible to spray it in exactly the shade the airframe carries, whether that is natural metal, desert camouflage or gray.
On models in natural metal, paint and polish the surface first and only then stick the masks down and spray the frames. Seal the edge with a thin coat of varnish. Work under a magnifier, at low pressure and in thin coats, so that in a small scale the engraving does not clog and the frame does not thicken to the eye.
The package contains only masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
