Brengun 1:144 Ki-45 Toryu is a photo-etched detail set for a plastic kit of the Japanese twin-engine fighter, not an aircraft model. The set is intended for the Aoshima kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is an accessory, not a kit. It is a fret of photo-etched metal parts from the Czech maker Brengun, cut for the Aoshima plastic Ki-45 model. The aircraft model has to be bought separately.
The Ki-45 Toryu was a Japanese twin-engine heavy fighter with a crew of two. Besides escort and attack duties it found wider use as a night fighter against bomber formations. For a modeler a twin-engine layout means more detail on the exterior, that is the engine nacelles, the radiators and the landing gear bays, and that is exactly where photo-etched parts show up most.
Metal will bond to plastic only with cyanoacrylate; ordinary plastic cement does not work here. The key is in the dispensing: squeeze a drop of glue onto a piece of old plastic or foil and take it from there with the tip of a pin, a wire or a length of stretched sprue. An excess whitens the surroundings and clogs the detail in a small scale. Thin glue wicks under a part by capillary action, while gel glue holds longer and comes in handy when you need to align a part for a moment. Use an accelerator sparingly, as it makes the joint brittle. Always dry-fit a part before you reach for the glue.
The set is an accessory to a plastic kit, which it does not include. The parts are supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
