A masking set from the SX-Art brand for painting a model of the Boeing 757-200 airliner in 1:144 scale. It is not a kit and not a part of a model, but an aid for painting: the masks are stuck onto the cabin windows and other areas, sprayed over and lifted off once the paint has dried. The dimensions and shapes are based on the Zvezda kit.
The Boeing 757-200 is a twin-engine narrow-body airliner with a long slender fuselage, high-set landing gear and a wing designed for powerful climb. It is precisely the combination of strong engines and a long fuselage that made it a popular machine for operations from short runways and for longer routes across the ocean. On a model in 1:144 scale the most delicate thing is the front glazing of the flight deck, which has shapes of complicated frames and runs into the rounded nose.
First mask the cabin windows and only then spray the finish of the fuselage. Seat the mask with tweezers and press the edges down; on the rounded nose work in small sections. Models of airliners are often sprayed to a high gloss, so spray thinly and let every layer harden properly; a heavy application under the mask creates an edge that a glossy surface picks out mercilessly. Lift the mask off shortly after the paint has set, and polish the surface over before applying the decals.
It is an accessory to a model, not the model itself. The kit and paints are not included in the package. Before you buy, check that the set matches your kit.
