Pavla models 1:144 RAF ground equipment set WW2 part I. is a set of airfield ground equipment for dioramas and display cases in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set belongs among diorama accessories, so it is not a model of an aircraft. It completes the scene around a model in the small 1:144 scale with the equipment that surrounded the machines on an airfield between flights. It is exactly these small things that turn a lone model on a base into a believable scene. The designation part I. suggests that this is the first volume of an intended series, but the particular composition of the parts cannot be documented from the name.
The 1:144 scale is the domain of small display cases and arrangements of several aircraft on one surface. That is exactly where ground equipment comes into its own best: it creates scale and a story around the model without taking up room. The set suits British machines of the Second World War period, but a number of the elements of airfield operations are universal enough to serve in other scenes from the same period as well.
First wash the small parts thoroughly so that no mold release agent remains on them, and paint them while they are still on the casting blocks. In this scale work with heavily thinned paint and thin layers, otherwise the engraving will be lost. Match the tone of the equipment to the base of the diorama; a dark wash in the recesses and fine dry brushing of the edges will help. Finally we recommend a light dusting with pigment near the ground, so that the equipment sits visually on the surface it stands on. They are attached with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
