Aviattic 1:24 five-color lozenge pattern for lower surfaces (faded) — a full-width decal sheet with the faded five-color lower variant of the German camouflage of aircraft fabric from the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from Aviattic with the five-color lozenge pattern in the faded version for the lower flying surfaces of models in 1:24 scale. The pattern is printed in its full width, so you cut continuous strips from it as from a real roll of fabric.
The faded lower variant is naturally completed by the matching sheet for the upper surfaces. An interesting effect also arises from a combination with the richer factory fresh version, though: a field of fresh fabric in the middle of faded covering faithfully imitates a repair after damage, exactly as machines looked after the attentions of field mechanics. On real aircraft the individual strips of covering were then joined by glued tapes over the ribs — on a model these can be suggested, and the final varnish ties the whole together, turning the individual strips into a continuous fabric surface.
Lay the strips on a smooth gloss base with a softener and let them dry thoroughly. Then clear coat the whole with a matte or semi-matte varnish; a fine wash in the recesses and a little dust pigment will underline the worn look of the faded pattern.
This is a decal sheet — the model, varnish and other accessories are not included in the package.
