The Hawker Typhoon Mk Ib was a British single-seat aircraft of the Second World War. It came about as a fighter for combat at altitude, but there it disappointed and made its name only close to the ground: thanks to great speed low over the terrain and heavy armament it became a feared attacker of ground targets. It was powered by the Napier Sabre piston engine, whose cylinders were arranged in an H, that is in two horizontal banks one above the other. The Mk Ib form carried four cannons in the wing and the later machines were given a frameless sliding canopy.
This is a decal sheet for 1:24. At such a large scale the markings are seen close up, so their sharpness and the register of the colors matter more than on small models. The sheet widens the choice of machines you can build beyond what the instructions of a kit offer. Which particular aircraft it covers is stated in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version: a self-adhesive film that has been soaked is ruined, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later. With the usual waterslide version, first finish the surface to a gloss, cut the motif out with a small margin and soak it in lukewarm water. After a moment slide it off the backing paper onto the dampened spot, settle it, draw the surplus water off with a soft cloth and help it over the riveting with a decal softener. Once dry, give the whole a clear coat so that the edges of the film disappear.
The decal sheet alone is supplied. The kit, the paints and the varnishes are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
