Aviattic 1:28 five-color lozenge pattern for upper surfaces (factory shades) — a decal sheet with full-width German polygon camouflage from the First World War in rich, unfaded colors.
Responsibility details are not available.
This large-format Aviattic decal sheet covers the upper surfaces of models of First World War aircraft in 1:28 scale with full-width printing of the five-color polygon pattern. The factory fresh variant captures fabric as it left production — in rich, clean shades with no traces of wear.
The number in the designation gives the number of shades in the polygon field. The German textile mills printed camouflage fabric in four-color and five-color versions; five-color printing offers finer color transitions and was common on the machines of the last years of the war. A darker, richer series of tones was used for the upper surfaces, while the lower surfaces received a lighter set. The polygon field at the same time fulfilled its camouflage role at the altitudes at which air combat most often took place, and its faithful reproduction is essential for the overall impression of a model.
Spray the base gloss and let it cure. Lay the decal down in smaller sections according to the layout of the covering, fine-tune the position in the water film and then press it down with a soft cloth. A softener will help the pattern wrap around raised ribs and pressings; a final varnish will even the surface out.
The sheet is an add-on to a model — the kit itself is not included in the package.
