A decal sheet with a four-color diamond lozenge pattern and a canvas texture for models of German First World War aircraft in 1:32 scale. It is a wet transfer.
Responsibility details are not available.
German aircraft of the First World War were given covering of fabric that was printed at the factory with a diamond pattern, established among modelers under the name lozenge. The pattern replaced hand-sprayed camouflage and saved time as well as paint. The four-color variant is, alongside the five-color one, among the most often built.
The print is supplemented with the structure of the cloth, so once it is applied and dry the area does not look like a smooth film but like stretched fabric. The pattern is printed at a size matching 1:32 scale, where the structure of the covering reads well.
Overcoat the area under the transfer with gloss varnish; on a matte base a silvery haze forms under the film. Cut out the piece you need, soak it in lukewarm water and, once it has released, slide it off the backing paper into place. Blot the excess water and use a decal softener so that the transfer wraps around the ribs and the leading edges. Once dry, go over the area with matte varnish.
The sheet will be appreciated by builders of First World War biplanes who do not want to spray the diamonds through stencils. The package contains only the decal sheet; the model, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
