This photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:32 scale adds fine metal details to the outer surface of the A-1D Skyraider attack aircraft. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit. The exterior photo-etched parts take in small features of the skin, panels, covers and other fine points that a plastic mold can manage only in simplified form.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was an American single-engine propeller-driven ground-attack and attack aircraft, which stayed in active service well into the jet era. It was marked by a great armament load, toughness and long endurance over the battlefield. In the large 1:32 scale even the small exterior details stand out, and the photo-etched set completes them faithfully.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool. Glue the metal with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and coat it with a primer for metal before painting. Seat the fine exterior parts so that they follow the surface of the skin.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
