This set is not a model of an airplane but a decorative decal film for a final surface in 1:32 scale. The decal faithfully reproduces the structure of a taut fabric covering of the kind that older aircraft with fabric skins had. It is applied to a finished and varnished model and gives it the fine woven relief that cannot be achieved with a smooth spray. The manufacturer is the Czech firm HGW.
A fabric covering stiffened with dope was used on the fuselages and flying surfaces of aircraft of the First World War and the interwar era. The taut cloth created a characteristic woven structure on the surface, and suggested rib lines, which a model straight out of the box lacks without further work.
Apply the decal to a smooth, varnished base, ideally with a decal softener, so that it adheres perfectly to the shape. Once it has dried, the surface can be repainted or weathered. Work with plenty of water and shape the decal carefully over the leading edges and the transitions.
This is a decorative accessory, not a model in its own right. The package does not contain the base kit, glue or paints, unless stated otherwise.
