Photo-etched metal parts for a Dassault Mirage 2000D model in 1:32 scale. The benefit of photo-etch lies mainly in thickness: a metal part is a fraction of a millimeter thick, so thin edges, grilles, hinges and small raised panels do not stay as heavy as their plastic counterparts. In a large scale, where a model is looked at from close up, that means a noticeable difference. Which parts of the model the set supplements are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Mirage 2000 is a French fighter with a delta wing and without horizontal tail surfaces, so it has an unmistakable silhouette. The 2000D version is two-seat and intended for attacks on ground targets; the crew consists of a pilot and a systems operator, which shows on a model in the double cabin and the longer canopy. For a modeler that means the interior is very visible and accessories for the cabin are worth having.
Separate a part from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, as cutters bend the sheet. Sand the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the fold over a sharp edge, best in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and do it at the first attempt, as repeated folding tires the sheet. Be sparing with glue: apply super glue in tiny drops, or use two-part epoxy when you need time to seat a part. Before painting, degrease the surfaces and apply a base coat. Fit the parts for the cabin before the fuselage is closed up.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
