Photo-etched metal parts for a Dassault Mirage 2000N model in 1:32 scale. A metal fret is only a fraction of a millimeter thick, and that is exactly its point: it replaces plastic parts where the material should be almost imperceptibly thin in scale. In a large scale, where a model takes a close look, the difference between a thin metal edge and its plastic counterpart is noticed at once. The extent of the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions; plan the order of the build from them.
The Mirage 2000 is a French fighter with a delta wing and without horizontal tail surfaces. The 2000N version is a two-seat strike variant that was intended to carry nuclear armament. The longer cabin for a crew of two tells it apart from the single-seat machines at first glance, so the interior stays clearly visible on a model even after the canopy is closed.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, as cutters will bend the sheet. Level the remains of the tab with a fine file so that the part seats. Make the fold over a sharp edge, best in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers, and do it at the first attempt; repeated folding tires the material and it cracks. Dose super glue in tiny drops, and on larger areas two-part epoxy suits better, as it gives time to align things. Before painting, degrease the metal and apply a base coat, or the paint will rub off during handling alone.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
