An accurate turned metal pitot tube from the manufacturer MASTER in 1:32 scale, intended for models of the Dassault Mirage III and Mirage 5. It is not a model of the aircraft but a refining accessory that replaces the coarse or fragile plastic pitot from the base kit with a faithful metal part.
The Dassault Mirage III was a French single-engine supersonic fighter with a delta wing, one of the most successful European combat aircraft of its era. The Mirage 5 grew out of it as a simplified strike version. The long nose pitot is a striking recognition detail of the airframe.
The part separates cleanly from its carrier and is glued with cyanoacrylate into a pre-drilled hole in the tip of the fuselage. Metal holds paint better once a base coat has been applied. The fitting belongs among the last steps of the build, so that the tube is not bent.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
