Injection-molded plastic kit of the Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat in 1:32 scale from Trumpeter - the American carrier fighter of the closing stage of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat carrier fighter in the large 1:32 scale from Trumpeter. This is the first production version of this compact fighter. The large scale allows a detailed cockpit, an engine section with the radial engine and finely engraved surfaces. The exact contents of the package and the number of marking options are not stated here.
The Bearcat was designed as a light, high-performance carrier fighter with a high rate of climb. Grumman built it around the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine in the smallest and lightest airframe possible. The first F8F-1 version reached service only at the end of the Second World War and never took part in combat against Japan; even so it ranks among the peaks of piston fighter development and was famous for its exceptional rate of climb and agility. After the war Bearcats flew with reserve units and later became sought-after racing aircraft at air races.
Paint the cockpit and the engine and pick out their detail before you close up the fuselage. Mask the clear glazing and glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Spray the glossy dark blue navy finish with an airbrush over a primer, apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and pick the panel lines out gently. With large kits Trumpeter often supplies rubber tires and small photo-etched parts for finer detail; the tires can be replaced with resin ones for a more accurate shape.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
