The photo-etched HGW 1:32 Hansa-Brandenburg W.12 - Engine is a set of fine metal parts for bringing out the engine of a large-scale model of the German floatplane fighter biplane. It is not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched detail accessory, not a model of the airplane. The set brings fine metal parts for bringing out the engine and its surroundings on a large-scale model of the German two-seat floatplane fighter biplane the Hansa-Brandenburg W.12 of the First World War in 1:32 scale.
The Hansa-Brandenburg W.12 was powered by a water-cooled inline engine with clearly visible cylinders and valve gear. On the real subject part of the power unit was uncovered, so the engine becomes a rewarding place for refining detail. The machines served with the Imperial German Navy over the North Sea.
The photo-etched parts are of thin sheet, brass or steel, on a common fret. Cut the individual parts off with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend the folds exactly along the marked lines, best of all in a bending tool or on a straight blade. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate); on larger surfaces a two-part epoxy can be used for a longer time to position the part. Degrease the flat sheet before painting and apply a thin layer of primer, so that the fine relief stays sharp.
This is not a complete model of the airplane. The set does not contain glue, paints or a kit; it serves as a detail accessory to a base model.
