Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from the OWL brand in 1:32 scale for the twin-engine Heinkel He 219 night fighter, specifically for the machine designated A-045 with the code DV+VL, operated at the Werneuchen aviation test base. It is neither a model nor a part of one but an accessory for a He 219 kit in 1:32 scale. The extent of the sheet and the number of decals are stated on the box.
The Heinkel He 219 was a German twin-engine night fighter. It had a nose wheel, a crew of two sitting back to back, gun armament in the fuselage and in a ventral gondola, and on the nose it carried the aerials of an airborne radar. Besides serving with combat units, the machines of the early A-0 series were also used for trials: equipment, electronics and armament were tested on them. Werneuchen was an aviation test base where airborne radar equipment in particular was tested, so the machines used there often carried non-standard equipment and different markings. That is exactly what makes this subject interesting for a modeler, because it differs from the ordinary front-line machines.
Give the area under the decal a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface the edges will go white. Cut the decal out as close as possible, soak it in warm water for a few seconds and let it rest on the paper. Transfer it onto a wetted surface, set the position and squeeze the water out with a soft cloth. On surfaces with many shapes, on riveting and on engraved lines use a softener, and prick any bubbles with the tip of a knife. Once dry, wash the surface and secure the finished model with a clear coat of the sheen you want. With trials machines it pays to think the order through in advance: the fuselage code often overlaps with other elements of the markings.
This is a decal sheet, not a model. The kit, paints and clear coat are not included in the package.
