Airbrush masks 1:32 for the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat model (1 Man Army)

A set of masks from 1 Man Army in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for painting, not an aircraft model. The 1 Man Army range is aimed at masks for spraying insignia and lettering onto the surface of a model, that is, at an alternative to decals, reached for by modelers who dislike the gloss of the carrier film of a decal on large areas.

The real subject

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter with a radial engine and folding wings. The F6F-3 version was the first production variant of the type. The design followed from the demands of operating from aircraft carriers: rugged landing gear, a good view from a raised cockpit and a large wing area for a low landing speed.

Use

• Apply the masks only to fully cured paintwork, ideally to a smooth gloss surface.
• Press the edges down carefully and make sure that no air bubble is left anywhere.
• Spray in several very thin coats; lower pressure reduces the risk of bleed.
• Take the mask off shortly after it has dried — the longer it stays on the model, the harder it is to remove.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want the markings sprayed in paint rather than transferred with a decal. It suits the large 1:32 scale in particular, where the insignia are big and the glossy film of a decal would be noticeable at certain viewing angles. Working with masks is slower than with decals, but the result looks like real paintwork.

This is a separate accessory. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
