A printed sheet with the grain of light wood in a natural tone, that is without a shift toward red or toward dark. The rendering of the growth rings and the grain is done in a density matching 1:32 scale, so that on a large model it keeps the right proportion and looks neither coarse nor blurred.
On models of older aircraft wood is visible at every turn: on propeller blades, on the floor and side panels of the pilot's compartment, on stiffeners and on surfaces covered with plywood. Painting a convincing rendering of grain with a brush is a long job and on two parts side by side the result is hard to unify. The sheet shortens that work and the rendering on it comes out the same across the whole area. It is cut into the pieces you need, so from one sheet you can cover several parts. The final tone is also affected by the color of the base, so choose a light and uniform coat and try the shade on an offcut before you touch a finished cockpit.
The surface under the transfer has to be smooth and degreased, as on a grainy surface the rendering breaks up. The sheet is supplied on its own; the model, paints, clear coat, decal softener and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
