A printed sheet with a light wood grain for models in 1:32, in the transparent form with no printed grid. The tone of the wood is decided by the paint sprayed under the print.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed sheet with which a surface of light wood is created on a model in 1:32. The form is transparent: the print carries the drawing of the rings and the grain alone, while the tone of the wood is supplied by the paint you spray on the area in advance. By changing the base shade you therefore get anything from pale plywood to a richer warm wood out of a single sheet. The note NO GRID in the name says that the drawing on the sheet is continuous, with no printed grid.
A modeler meets wooden surfaces more often than he would expect. The sheet saves the most work on aircraft from the beginnings of aviation, whose fuselages and coverings were of plywood, further on propellers, floors and cockpit side panels, on the decks of ships and on small things for a diorama, such as crates, barrels and furniture. A hand-painted imitation of wood is work for several evenings and rarely comes out the same across the whole area; a printed sheet gives a uniform result the first time.
It pays to try the procedure out on an offcut of the sheet and on a piece of sprayed plastic, so that you know how the print reacts to water and how long it can be moved. Lead the direction of the rings along the length of the part, that is as the fibers would run on a real piece of wood. Once dry, cover the area with a matte or semi-matte coat, so that the sheen does not bring printed paper to mind.
A printed sheet is supplied. The model, paints, clear coat and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
