1:32 Ltn. Amelia Airheart: a resin figure of a female pilot in period flying gear from the manufacturer Aviattic, a stylish accessory to models of aircraft in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure from the Aviattic range of pilot characters portrays a female pilot in the period flying gear of early aviation. The resin casting in 1:32 scale gives a model of an aircraft a human scale and a story: it comes into its own in a vignette beside a machine, in a larger diorama and equally as a scene of its own on a base in a display case.
The very first decades of flying drew in daring women, who climbed into open cockpits alongside men and wrote themselves into history with long-distance and record flights. The flying gear of female pilots of the day, the overall or the leather coat, the flying helmet and the goggles, is among the most picturesque subjects of early aviation. A figure of this kind therefore goes superbly with aircraft from the first decades of flying and brings a less usual subject into a collection.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, clean up the casting blocks and join any separate parts with super glue. Once the base color is on, play with the contrast of the materials: the matte cloth of the overall, the fine sheen of the leather parts and carefully layered skin on the face. For shading the small folds, oil paints blended out to nothing have proved themselves; paint the fine detail with a thin brush under a magnifier.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the aircraft are not included in the package.
