AML paint masks 1:32 for the P-40E and P-47D-27 aircraft in Soviet service — the fourth part of the line on American fighters with Soviet national insignia. For accurate spraying of schemes on large models.

The fourth installment of the line of paint masks from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:32 scale, this time for a pair of markedly different American fighters. The Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk was among the most widespread Allied types delivered to the Soviet Union, while the bulky Republic P-47D Thunderbolt reached the Soviet Air Force in smaller numbers, which makes it all the more interesting as a subject for the modeling bench.
A sprayed national marking sits properly even on domed covers and angular transitions, where a decal wrinkles or silvers. A mask also guarantees that the stars will have the same size and position on both halves of the model. In 1:32 scale that difference shows at a glance, and the large surfaces of the Thunderbolt positively ask to be sprayed.
Spray the markings onto a gloss or a smoothly flat base so that the edge of the mask seats well. Lay the paint on in several very thin coats, as a thick layer creates a step at the edge. Once the mask is lifted off, let everything cure and only then go on to weathering; sprayed markings look more natural under it than a decal.
This is a modeling accessory; the aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
