AML 1:32 painting masks for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc. A set for spraying the British camouflage scheme on a large model of the legendary fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of painting masks from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:32 scale for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc, one of the most widespread versions of the famous British fighter. From 1942 the Spitfire Mk.IX gave the Royal Air Force back its edge thanks to the two-stage supercharger of the Merlin engine, and it also became a mount of the Czechoslovak squadrons of the RAF, which makes it one of the most popular modeling subjects of all.
British camouflage schemes have a characteristic wavy border between the colors. With a mask you spray it exactly as on the original: an edge pressed down gives a crisp line, and if you want the softly feathered transition that matches the real spray job, simply lift the edge of the mask slightly and spray from a greater distance. The result is clean and, above all, repeatable on both halves of the airframe.
Work at lower pressure and with thinner paint in several coats. Lay the wavy masks down step by step and keep checking that the fields line up between the fuselage and the wings. Pull the mask off backward at a sharp angle, never straight up. Let the whole scheme cure fully before weathering.
A modeling accessory: the set does not contain the aircraft kit, paints or glue.
