Messerschmitt Bf 109E EXTERIOR 1:32 is a photo-etched exterior set from HGW intended to raise the fidelity of the external surface of a Messerschmitt Bf 109E model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched accessory, not the airplane model itself. The set holds fine photo-etched parts from thin sheet metal that replace or supplement the external details of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E plastic kit in 1:32 scale. The aim is sharper edges, thinner surfaces and finer rendering than injection-molded plastic can offer on its own.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was one of the key versions of the famous German fighter from the beginning of the Second World War. Among other things it was used during the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain. The early E version differs from the later subvariants in the shape of the cowling, the canopy and the armament, which is why the period details are dealt with by a separate photo-etched set.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass or metal surface and bend them with a bending tool or between two rulers. Super glue (cyanoacrylate) or two-part epoxy is the right choice for gluing small metal parts. Degrease the surfaces before painting; it is a good idea to spray the metal with a primer for better adhesion.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
