A detail set for the cockpit interior of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E in 1:32 scale from HGW refines the cockpit of a large model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set, not an airplane kit. It is intended to refine the cockpit of a Bf 109E model in the large 1:32 scale, where the cockpit is clearly visible once the build is finished and the plastic parts from the base kit are usually not enough for it. It is a set of photo-etched metal parts.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was one of the main versions of the German fighter of the late 1930s and early 1940s. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V12 with direct fuel injection, thanks to which the engine tolerated negative g as well. The cockpit was narrow, with an angular framed canopy and flat panes, so on the model the interior forms a fairly small but very exposed space.
Bend the photo-etched parts on a bending tool, or at least on the edge of a steel ruler, never in your fingers, otherwise you get a rounded transition instead of a sharp edge. Degrease the metal parts with alcohol before painting and spray them with a primer for metal. Build and paint the interior completely before you glue the fuselage together, because after that you will not be able to reach it. The detail comes out when you unify the surfaces with a dark wash and carefully bring out the edges with a dry brush. Glue the belts and small parts with the smallest possible amount of super glue, so that the fine relief does not get flooded.
The set is an accessory to the base kit, which it does not include. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
