This item is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for one. It is a set of pre-cut masking stencils from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for building the twin-engine North American B-25H Mitchell bomber in 1:32 scale. The stencils are stuck onto the transparent parts and the surrounding surfaces that are to stay free of paint, and once the spraying is done they are taken off again. That does away with the laborious cutting of tape against a rule, which on cockpits with a multitude of small frames and on the glazed sections tends to be the most unpleasant part of the whole build. The particular number of pieces and the extent of the set are given on the packaging.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was a twin-engine medium bomber with a twin vertical tail, deployed during the Second World War on most fronts. The B-25H version was among the attack forms with heavier gun armament in the nose and with a single-seat pilot's area. It is precisely the extensive cockpit glazing and the many transparent parts that make a model in the large 1:32 scale a demanding object to mask, and that is where good stencils pay off most.
Degrease the transparent parts before applying the stencils and do not touch them with bare fingers. Lift a stencil out carefully with the tip of a scalpel or with tweezers, seat it and press it down with a wooden toothpick, so that no paint runs under the edge. Spray in thin layers and let them flash off; a heavy layer of paint forms a step at the edge. Take the mask off as soon as possible after the paint has dried, not weeks later, and by pulling back over itself at a sharp angle, not straight upward. It pays to spray the interior shade of the frames first and only then the outer camouflage.
