Eduard 1:32 North American F-100C Super Sabre gun bay is a photo-etched set focused on the cannon bay of a model of the American supersonic fighter in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a kit. The set holds parts cut from thin photo-etched sheet, intended according to the name for the cannon bay in the forward fuselage, that is for the area built with the service panels open. The manufacturer is the Czech company Eduard.
An open weapons bay looks striking, but it is demanding. The real bay is filled with bulkheads, mounts, cable runs and sheet metal walls with lightening holes, which injection-molded plastic can render only coarsely. Photo-etched parts let you build the walls in scale thickness and add the small items that make the difference between a hinted and a convincing detail, especially in the large 1:32 scale.
The North American F-100C Super Sabre was an American single-engine supersonic aircraft with a Pratt & Whitney J57 afterburning engine. Its gun armament consisted of four 20 mm cannons in the lower forward fuselage.
The opening for the hinged panels usually has to be cut out of the plastic, so count on work with a file and a knife. Paint the inside of the bay and bring it out with a wash before you close the fuselage. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, glue them with cyanoacrylate and apply a primer before painting.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
