The photo-etched set Eduard 1:32 North American F-100F Super Sabre - leading-edge slats for a more faithful rendering of the movable slats on the wing of a model. An accessory for a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A specialized set of photo-etched parts from the maker Eduard aimed at the slats on the leading edge of the wing of a model of the F-100F Super Sabre in 1:32 scale. On this type the slats are a conspicuous element of its shape and on a parked aircraft they tend to be extended, which kits usually deal with in a simplified way. The metal parts allow thinner edges and a more accurate rendering of the gap between the slat and the leading edge. It is not a kit but an accessory for finishing one.
North American Aviation built the F-100 Super Sabre as the first American production fighter aircraft able to fly supersonically in level flight. The swept wing of small thickness had movable slats on the leading edge, which improved the behavior of the machine at low speeds, that is, mainly on takeoff and landing. The F-100F version is two-seat.
First think through on the model whether you are going to build the slats extended or retracted, because a different procedure and a different alteration of the plastic go with each. Cut the parts off the fret and make the bends in a bending tool; with long narrow strips, watch out that no wave arises. Glue the metal with super glue, and on larger areas the gel variety helps, as it gives you time to seat the part. Degrease the parts before varnishing and apply a primer. Extended slats are fragile, so take hold of the model somewhere other than the wing during the rest of the work.
This is an accessory for a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
