This is not a kit and not a resin part. The set brings interior elements printed in a 3D texture onto decal paper, which are applied to the model as a wet decal. Red Fox Studio also makes a set for a kit from another maker under the same name, which is why we say it straight away: this one is cut for the Trumpeter kit.
The cockpit of the P-40 is unusually open to view under its long, heavily glazed canopy. Besides the instrument panel you can see the whole left sidewall with the console for the engine and propeller controls, the right side with the electrical runs and switches, and the structural members behind the seat. That is exactly why on this subject it does not pay to deal with the panel alone — a model with a finished panel and empty walls looks half done. The seat with its belts is the most striking element of all in many photographs of the cockpit.
The sidewalls have sharp transitions and deep corners that a flat piece of paper will not reach on its own. Slide the element into place, fix it on the largest flat area with a glass or a smooth tool, and only then push it into the corner with a soft damp brush. It helps to work in small sections and to draw the surplus water off between them. Where the transition is too sharp it is better to cut the element at the edge and apply it as two pieces — the join in the corner will not show, whereas folded paper would stick out forever.
