Responsibility details are not available.
A collector's resin figure in 1:32 scale depicts an air mechanic of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) in a working pose at a repair of an aircraft, from the First World War. The maker Copper State Models specializes in the aviation of the Great War. The figure is meant to be assembled, painted and taken into a diorama; it is not a finished product.
The Royal Flying Corps was the air arm of the British army until 1918, when the Royal Air Force came into being. Air mechanics saw to the maintenance and repair of wood-and-fabric aircraft right on the field airfields, and their work was essential to the fighting strength of the units. The figure is treated factually, as a historical modeling subject, with the man bent to his work.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue; sand with respiratory protection. Acrylics and fine washes suit the painting, to pick out the folds of the working uniform. The figure shows to best advantage beside a period aircraft in 1:32 scale.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
