This is NOT an airplane model but an extensive brass photo-etched set in 1:32 scale. As a Super Detail Set it combines parts for the cockpit, the surfaces, the engine and the armament of the British fighter SE.5a in the version with the Hispano-Suiza engine, designated HISSO. Photo-etch replaces coarse plastic components with a quantity of fine elements.
The SE.5a was a British single-seat fighter aircraft of the end of the First World War, valued for its steadiness, its speed and its sturdy structure. In the HISSO version it was powered by a water-cooled eight-cylinder Hispano-Suiza V engine. It ranked among the most successful Allied fighters and leading aces flew it.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the bends over the etched scored lines with a bender. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Given the extent of the set, plan the sequence in advance and degrease the parts before painting.
This is an accessory for raising the level of detail of a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
