A set of four turned metal barrels in 1:32 scale from the Polish brand Aber, backed by parts for the sights. It is a detail accessory to models of German Second World War aircraft, not a kit of an airplane. The metal barrels have a drilled muzzle, an accurate diameter and sharp edges that cannot be cast in plastic. Four pieces in the package cover an aircraft with four cannons or two models with a pair of weapons each.
The MG FF was a German 20 mm aircraft cannon, derived under license from an Oerlikon design. It was deployed above all in the wings of fighters and in the forward armament of heavy fighters at the start of the Second World War. The weapon was marked by a low muzzle velocity and a relatively short barrel, and more modern cannons later replaced it in service. For a modeler it is interesting precisely because its barrel is usually clearly visible on aircraft.
Cut off the plastic barrel with a scalpel or a saw and open the hole in the wing or the fuselage out with a hand drill. Degrease the metal parts with alcohol and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Glue the small sights on last, ideally with the tip of a toothpick and a minute drop of glue. Lay a base coat on the metal before painting and use a dark gunmetal shade. Working with parts this small is easier over a light-colored mat and with fine tweezers.
The set is an accessory to a kit; the model of the airplane itself is not included in the package. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
