An Aber 1:32 set of four barrel tips for the German 7.92 mm MG 17 aircraft machine guns are turned metal barrel tips. A detail accessory for aircraft models, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of four turned metal barrel tips in 1:32 scale from the Polish brand Aber. Unlike complete barrels these are only the muzzles, that is the part that projects from the cowling or from the leading edge of the wing on a model. The solution is practical where the kit handles the shape of the barrel but its muzzle is blind and coarse. It is not a model of an airplane but a detail accessory. Four pieces in the package cover an aircraft with four machine guns, or two models with a pair of weapons each.
The MG 17 was a German 7.92 mm aircraft machine gun in a fixed installation, synchronized with the propeller and fired by the pilot. It belonged to the basic armament of German fighters and combat aircraft at the end of the 1930s and the start of the Second World War, where it appeared above the engine and in the wings. In period photographs it is precisely its muzzles that are clearly visible, and that is the detail this set deals with.
Cut the tip of the plastic barrel off with a scalpel, level the surface and drill the hole out with a hand drill to the diameter of the metal part. Degrease the metal tip, glue it with cyanoacrylate glue and take care that all the pieces project the same distance and are parallel. Lay down a base coat for metal before painting, then a dark gunmetal shade. With parts this small it pays to work over a light-colored mat and to have fine-tipped tweezers to hand.
The set is an accessory to a kit; the model of the airplane itself is not included in the package. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
