A figure of a pilot of the US Army Air Forces of the Second World War in 1:32 scale, completed with a seat. According to the name it is prepared for a model of the P-47 Thunderbolt. The number of parts the figure is made up of and the recommended way of seating it in the cockpit are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
A large scale reveals an empty cockpit at first glance. A figure in it gives the size of the whole machine, and the finished model suddenly looks like a moment held still rather than a plastic mock-up. The P-47 was one of the largest single-engined fighters of its day and its roomy cockpit positively calls for a figure; it will serve just as well beside the model on a base or in a diorama.
First dry-fit the figure in the cockpit so that the shoulders and knees sit properly; only then glue it. Cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the surface. Wash and degrease the figure before painting. Paint it in sections and preferably before you seat it in the cockpit, as a brush reaches a finished model only with difficulty. Build the face up from a darker base toward lighter layers and set the gear and the straps apart in both shade and sheen.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
