This is a resin accessory from the Aires brand, from the Aerobonus figure range. The package holds one figure of an American pilot and, with it, a finely executed pilot's seat in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that brings the occupied cockpit of an A-1H Skyraider ground-attack aircraft markedly to life and gives it a realistic human dimension.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a massive single-engine piston ground-attack aircraft of American manufacture, which became famous above all in the Vietnam War as a persistent platform for supporting ground forces and for rescue operations. The pilot is rendered in period flying gear matching the era in which the machine served.
First wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutter and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; acrylics suit the gear, the skin and the straps, with final toning by a wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package.
