A turned metal barrel of the 20 mm nkm wz.38 FK-A heavy machine gun for a model of the Polish TKS tankette in 1:35 scale. It is a replacement part, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is not a vehicle model but a precisely turned metal barrel of 20 mm caliber that replaces the plastic part on a model in 1:35 scale. On a weapon this small the difference is especially clear: the metal barrel has a perfectly circular cross section and a thin muzzle wall, and it has no longitudinal seam that would have to be laboriously sanded away. It is made by the Polish brand Aber, which specializes in turned barrels and photo-etched parts.
The TKS was a Polish tankette of the 1930s, a small two-man tracked vehicle originally intended for reconnaissance and infantry support, armed as standard with a machine gun. A few vehicles received the 20 mm nkm wz.38 FK-A heavy machine gun in 1939, which allowed them to engage lightly armored targets as well. This variant is the most popular among modelers precisely because of such unusually strong armament on so small a chassis.
Cut the original plastic barrel off with a fine saw and level the cut carefully, so that the metal part points along the axis. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy, because cement for polystyrene will not bond metal. Degrease the metal and cover it with a primer before painting. Given the small dimensions, work with tweezers and fit the barrel at the very end of the build, so that it does not get bent while handling.
The set is an accessory to a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
