An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The subject of the model is the containerized Club-K launch system in the form for a twenty-foot sea container, fitted with Kh-35UE anti-ship missiles. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Club-K is a concept in which the launcher and the control elements are hidden inside a standardized ISO shipping container. Outwardly the assembly does not differ from an ordinary container that can be carried on a trailer, by rail and on the deck of a ship; for launching, the roof section opens and the launch module is raised into an inclined position. The variant for the shorter twenty-foot container carries Kh-35UE missiles, the export version of the subsonic anti-ship guided missile with a sea-skimming flight path and radar guidance in the terminal phase, known within the system under the designation 3M24. The missile is designed for low flight above the surface. The system was publicly presented as modular and transportable, which is the main reason it is a sought-after subject among modelers.
Compared with a classic vehicle the model has simple large areas, so the transitions and the edges stand out. Glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic applied into the seams by capillary action. Apply a primer before painting, as otherwise paint holds less well on the smooth areas of the container. The container walls have their characteristic corrugation, which is worth bringing out with a thin wash in the recesses and a fine dry brush on the ridges. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
